I have a wild plum tree:
and I also have a plum loving black lab:
Every single time I let the girl out to do her business, she's over next to this tree, snacking on whatever has fallen to the ground. I was worried at first it would upset her stomach, but it's been a couple weeks now and they might as well be kibble to her.
I shouldn't be surprised. Our brittany loves to steal heirloom tomatoes off the counter.
But really... I don't want all these darlings to go the dogs.
My aunt told me there was nothing better than wild plum jelly.
I've never canned a thing in my life... much less made jelly. I suppose now is a good a time as ever to learn though right?
Anyone have any advice.... any websites or books to refer to? I have a feeling, like all the other cooking adventures I get into, this will be very interesting.
