(May 20th, 3 days old. I love how her ears look a bit pointed and elvish here...)
Sometimes, (as many babies do) when Ember is napping, she'll let out a small cry, or a whimper. And make such a sad, or slightly alarmed face.
And I'm not sure if it's dreaming... or some small discomfort, or what causes it.
But it completely compels me to lower my head to her ear and whisper:
"It's alright. You're alright. You're safe here."
(June 1st, 15 days old.)
Just until she settles back to sleep.
I can't help it. I just want her to know, no matter the reason, she's always safe to express whatever she needs to. That's I'm a safe place for her to be whoever she needs to be.
